Clangram is a web app for building and sharing an interactive family tree. You add relatives with photos, see everyone's birthdays in one place, and view where your family lives on a world map. Share the tree privately with a view password or invite relatives to collaborate on it.
Clangram starts with a free 14-day trial, no credit card required. After the trial, Starter is $12/year for up to 100 family members and Growth is $24/year for unlimited members. One subscription covers the whole family: the admin pays, and everyone else joins for free.
Yes. As the admin you can set a view password and share a link. Anyone with the link and password can browse the tree, birthdays, and map in read-only mode. They do not need to sign up or create an account.
Yes. As the admin you can invite other family members via a share link. Collaborators can add people, update relationships, upload photos, and fix mistakes you missed.
Yes. Clangram imports standard GEDCOM (.ged) files from Ancestry, FamilySearch, Gramps, RootsMagic, and any other tool that exports the GEDCOM 5.5.1 format. You can also re-import a Clangram export zip, which bundles your photos alongside the GEDCOM so everything comes across in one go. Import runs from Settings; it only works on an empty family, so your existing data is never overwritten.
Yes, always. Every paid plan includes one-click GEDCOM export with photos bundled in a zip. Your family data is yours to take with you whenever you want.
Each family member can have a city on their profile. Clangram turns the city into a map pin and groups multiple relatives who live in the same city together. It's a quick way to see where your family is scattered around the world.
Yes. Families are not listed publicly and are not indexed by search engines. By default only people you invite can see the tree. If you add a view password, only people with the password can view the read-only version. You can export or delete your family's data at any time.
Yes. Cancel from Settings and you keep access for the rest of the paid period.
