• Account information: email address and password (hashed)
• Family member data: names, birthdays, gender, cities, and relationships that you enter
• Photos: avatar images you upload for family members
• Location data: city names and coordinates associated with family members
• Usage data: pages visited and general usage patterns via Google Analytics

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the family tree service
• Authenticate your account
• Display family data to you and people you share it with
• Improve the service based on usage patterns

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or family data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Clangram:

• Supabase: database storage, user authentication, and photo storage
• Railway: application hosting
• Google Analytics: anonymous usage analytics (pages visited, session duration)

Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing how they handle data.

4. Cookies

Clangram uses cookies for:

• Authentication: session cookies to keep you logged in
• View access: cookies to remember password-protected view access
• Analytics: Google Analytics cookies to understand usage patterns

5. Data Sharing

Your family tree data is private by default. It is only accessible to:

• Members you invite to your family group
• Anyone you share a view-only password with (if you set one)

We do not access, review, or use your family data except as needed to provide the service (e.g., storing and displaying it).

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and family tree data within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: view all data associated with your account
• Export: download your family tree data as a GEDCOM file with photos via the Settings page
• Deletion: request deletion of your account and data by contacting us
• Correction: update or correct your information at any time through the app

8. Children's Privacy

Clangram is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Family trees may include information about children entered by their parents or guardians.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and row-level security on our database. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
